Volcan Villarrica Picture Post

by Adam Seper on February 25, 2011

What better way to start this post than with a video shot from the top of Volcan Villarrica after our four hour hike?

Because we had so many great pictures from our awesome trek to the top of Volcan Villarrica in Pucon, Chile, I just had to put up a pictures only post.  Enjoy!

The Start

Views on the way up

Pay attention to the tracks in the snow.  Those were the luge-like tracks we slid back down in.

What do you mean you slid back down? Did you just slide down on your bum? Or your stomach. Suddenly I see the appeal of walking all the way up there!

I totally love your “rawr” face.

Wow, I had never seen the inside of the crater of Villarrica. When Ange and I climbed go to the top, it was puffing up smoke (as per normal).

I love the axe pick- to me meant serious business. As for the trucks…do you mean you slid down like sliding down a large mountain with a sled kind of motion? Gulp!

  • http://www.pinayonthemove.com Grace

    Sorry I meant tracks =)

You slide down right on your bum. You put on some diaper looking costumes and slide down in those luge looking tracks you see in some of the pictures. It was awesome!

  • http://www.journeyofatravelwriter.com Adam

    Why thank you Erica! :)

  • http://www.journeyofatravelwriter.com Adam

Yeah, it was puffing out smoke, but not very much that day.

  • http://www.journeyofatravelwriter.com Adam

    That’s exactly what I mean.

Oh, bum-sliding down a volcano sounds like my kind of thing. I think you should totally repackage this post to highlight the bum-sliding!
